Planned locksmith work on the Semiahmoo Peninsula goes into the calendar below. A Crescent Beach cottage rekeyed in the gap between one set of renters and the next. A keypad deadbolt going onto an Ocean Park garage entry. A waterfront cylinder replaced before the salt finishes it off. A Hazelmere acreage where every keyed structure is counted first so the whole property closes in one trip. Pick a date, pick a window, and give us the address. If a door is already locked against you, none of this is the right tool. Phone instead.
A White Rock booking is sensitive to the season more than to the day of the week. Between the pier and the western end of Marine Drive, summer traffic and full beach lots make a July afternoon the worst window anyone can give you, so waterfront addresses get an early start wherever the work allows. The restaurant strip west of the pier runs the other way: those doors open at seven in the morning and are still serving past midnight, which leaves the hour before the first prep shift as the only calm slot for a cylinder change. Up the hill, the Johnston Road blocks are easier in the evening than at noon, when street parking there is at its tightest.
Half this territory cannot be found from a street number alone, so the notes field does real work. Morgan Creek is gated at its entrances and the after-hours process is not the daytime one. Houses in Elgin and Chantrell sit well back behind long driveways, and GPS lands imprecisely on some of the older estate lanes. Boat sheds and moorage at the marina end of Crescent Beach are found by berth rather than by street number. Give us the gate code, the berth, the building name or a cross street, and the first approach is the right one.
Give the date, the start time and the address on the call, and peninsula dispatch holds the window. Nothing is taken up front to reserve it, and moving the booking later is another call rather than a fresh request.
A rekey is priced by cylinder, which is why we count them with you instead of publishing a flat figure. Three to five is normal for a Semiahmoo family home or an inland Crescent Beach house, four to six once a patio door and a garage entry join in.
A slot is not booked until dispatch has talked the job through and settled what it costs, which happens before anyone is sent out. If the job sounds different from the way you meant it, that is the moment to say so. The technician calls again while still on the road, so nobody spends an hour watching the street.
Most bookings need nothing ordered ahead. The newer stock across South Surrey runs on a short list of familiar keyways and the van carries them, which is why an ordinary rekey will often fit a window on the same day. The exceptions cluster in two places. Ocean Park's early cottages and the 1920s and 1930s beach houses at Crescent Beach still carry mortise bodies in ageing wood frames, rim locks on the outbuildings, and in a few cases a key-in-knob entry with no separate deadbolt at all. Common mortise cylinder diameters of 1-1/16 and 1-1/8 inches are stocked; an unusual profile has to be sourced before the visit rather than discovered at the door. Describe what is on the door when you book, down to whether the key turns a knob or a bolt of its own, and a week of waiting becomes a single appointment.
The second exception is corrosion. Within a few blocks of the water, a cylinder that drags on the key is often past re-pinning, so a booking made for a rekey occasionally turns into a replacement once the plug is out. You hear that at the door, before anything is changed, and not for the first time on the invoice. On the commercial side of the strip, that switch from rekey to replacement is priced off the table on the lock change and rekey page.
The run of retirement and assisted-living buildings along North Bluff Road is the one part of this territory where the work is mostly planned well ahead rather than called in. A rekeying program across resident suites, or a master key hierarchy that keeps staff access apart from the secure common areas, belongs in a business-hours window for a practical reason: the building manager has to be on site at the end of it to take the key chart and walk through what changed. Book those into the morning half of the calendar. A resident locked out of their own suite is a different thing entirely and gets the same response as any other call, at any hour of the night.
Crescent Beach runs on a season. Cottages there cycle through renters all summer and then sit quiet for months, and the window that matters is the narrow one between a checkout and the next arrival. Book it a couple of days out rather than the night before, partly because the way in is a single corridor off Crescent Road with no second route down when beach parking backs up at the top. Say in the notes whether the property will be empty when we arrive, because an unoccupied cottage needs an access arrangement settled in advance instead of improvised on the doorstep.
An acreage is rarely one door. A Hazelmere farm property can carry an original mortise lock on the house, ordinary deadbolts added during a renovation, and padlocks on the sheds and equipment storage, and all of it closes in one trip if the count is known before the van loads. The estate lots along Crescent Road and the banks of the Nicomekl are the same story, where a workshop, a coach house and a gate keypad are part of the same visit. Count the keyed locks, padlocks included, and put the number in the notes. One thing worth raising on that call: Mul-T-Lock cylinders can be rekeyed in the field with what we carry, while Medeco usually goes back to factory service or a certified dealer, and that is far better known when the booking is made than on the day.
Everything above assumes the job can wait for a date on a calendar. A lockout does not wait, and no window on this page is fast enough for one. Call 778-370-5594 and the dispatch happens on that call. The arrival window is given on that call, based on where the nearest technician is when you ring. The eastern end really is further away, Hazelmere and Campbell Heights especially, and the honest window there is the longer one.
Every area on this list is booked on the same number, and nothing is taken up front to hold the slot. Addresses outside these fourteen are worth a phone call before you pick a date.
